School Lunch!

School Lunch, Unpacking our Shared Stories started as a personal project and snowballed quickly into an obsession (and finally a book!)

Drawing on material from more than seventy voices, the stories she captures in words and photos cover all walks of life—from celebrities and chefs to a circus family, new immigrants, a creative dad whose illustrated lunch bags went viral, plenty of unlikely cultural mashups, and one genuine cafeteria lady. Their experiences are compelling, familiar, and foreign at the same time, forming a cultural time capsule. School Lunch celebrates our diversity and our shared experience.

Things You Can Eat, From A- Z

A series of 26 wacky images, made in collaboration with food stylist and director, Victoria Granof.

Dreaming up the ideas was a blast. Lucy and Victoria’s problem-solving skills (honed from years on commercial sets) really shone. They may or may not have broken onto a private golf course with raw eggs and toast, ready with innocent excuses.

The series features original photography styled and created by Lucy & Victoria, original illustration painted by Lucy, and collage elements from Victoria. They would love to combine those skills again in another application some day soon.

Prints available for purchase upon request.

Things You Can Be, From A to Z

Before “Things You Can Eat” came Lucy’s illustrated, “Things You Can Be” series. They were all drawn as part of an Inktober challenge, where artists post a new drawing every day. Lucy has the highest respect for all the many things one can be and loves people who aren’t limited to just one.
